Job satisfaction and job stress according to LIFO (Life orientation) behavior pattern of preceptors

The purpose of this study was to investigate job satisfaction and job stress according to LIFO behaviors of preceptor nurses and to find out the correlation between job satisfaction and job stress according to LIFO behavior types. Regarding the job satisfaction according to LIFO behavior types of preceptors, there was no statistically significant difference, but regarding the job stress, there was a statistically significant difference in an unfavorable situation. With respect to the correlation between the job satisfaction and job stress according to LIFO behavior types of preceptors, in a favorable situation, there was a statistically significant inverse correlation between job satisfaction and job stress in AD type and in an unfavorable situation, there was a statistically significant pure correlation in CH type and a statistically significant inverse correlation in AD type. Based on the results of this study, the nursing department placed preceptee nurses in consideration of LIFO behaviors of preceptor nurses, if preceptor nurses desirably develop their preferred types and supplement the deficient types, job stress from role conflict will be reduced, it may be helpful to adapt it to the nursing practice of preceptee nurses. © Rushing Water Publishers Ltd. 2019.
