This study was performed to investigate the physical-chemical characteristics of the dredged soil and to make an estimate of the feasibility of recycling sewage dredged soils as construction materials through the cement solidification and yellow soil calcination. The grain size distribution of the sewage dredged soils was estimated by uniformity coefficient and coefficient of gradation. The grain size distribution of all dredged soils was relative graded. And the concentrations of heavy metals in dredged soil was polluted about twice time than nearby area. As a results of the estimation of the recycling possibility of sewage dredged soils as construction materials, in case of the cement solidification, the aggregate replaced with dredged soils to reach the compressive strength over 260 ~ 281 kgf/cm2, the ratio of sewage dredged soils should lower than 55%. However, in case of yellow soil calcination, the compressive strength of all sample were over 210 kgf/cm2. And it is not related to the ratio of sewage dredged soils. Especially in 60% content ratio of the dredged soils, compressive strength was 284 kgf/cm2 that strength is similar to those of the cement solidification. This result was indicated that the dredged soils will be able to be adapt to as aggregate. However, if we consider economical efficiency and stabilization of the heavy metals synthetically, the cement solidification method is fitter than yellow soil calcination for reuse of sewage dredged soils.
