The nonlinear phenomena of an optical pulse in a short-pulse free-electron laser oscillator have been studied using the one-dimensional single-mode free-electron laser equations. We have performed numerical simulations to determine the effects of shot-noise, and the results are compared to those without shot-noise. The dependencies of the current and the bunch length of the electron beam have also been studied in order to increase the output power in a FEL oscillator.
