The enhancement of stereoscopic image and hologram based on post-processing of depth and color

Enhancing the depth perception using color variation has recently gained much interest. This technology has been utilized especially in medical fields. Other method is to utilize depth data available and then to improve 3D perception based on the depth characteristics. This paper presents a novel scheme of improving the perceived stereoscopic quality as well as hologram data. Color processing and depth transformation are combined in order to achieve improved 3D perception. Experimental results based on subjective evaluation validated that the stereoscopic image delivers more 3D depth perception and hologram enhancement are apparently visible.
