벼에서 배 크기 관련 유전자간 상호작용

This study was carried out to analyze the three embryo size mutants types (giant embryo; ge, reduced embryo; re,embryoless; eml) and to identify relationship among the genes controlling ge, re and eml genotypes. Difference of grain typeand grain size in brown rice was compared between embryo and endosperm weight ratio among cultivars and mutants. Theweight ratio ranged 23% for cultivars, 67% for giant embryo mutants, and 01% for embryoless mutants. Every re muta-tion caused the reduction of all the embryonic organs including apical meristems and the enlargement of endosperm. The gemutants showed reduced the size of endosperm and enlarged the size of scutellum. However, the sizes of shoot and radiclewere not affected. A embryoless mutant, eml, mutant showed early degradation of embryo and embryoless phenotype inmature seed. At a high temperature (30oC day/25oC night), most eml seeds were embryoless and contained large endosperm.At a low temperature (18oC day and night), however, the frequency of embryoless seed dropped, and seeds were oftenwith endosperm size.
