공업용수 배수관망시스템을 개선하기 위한 설계대안의 수리해석
초록
Most water distribution systems are constructed to meet expected future water demands. Thus, water distribution systemshave a possibility to be overdesigned and inappropriately operated in high water pressures that cause to water leakage. In this case, water distribution systems need to be improved by taking into account present water demands. This studyaims at analyzing design alternatives to improve an existing industrial water distribution system in an industrial park. The alternatives are (i) to install pressure-regulating valves (PRVs) in the system, (ii) to directly supply industrial waterfrom a water treatment plant to the distribution system without transiting through an elevated water storage basin, and (iii) to relocate the elevated water storage basin into a place at a lower elevation. The PRV installation alternativesignificantly lowers the average and maximum water pressures of the system, compared to the other alternatives, implyingthat the PRV installation can lead to a significant amount of decrease in water leakage. This study can contribute toenhancing the economic and environmental performances of existing drinking and industrial water distribution systems.
