아세안공동체와 동아시아공동체

초록

This study is a theoretical reflection on the relationships between theASEAN Community and an East Asian community envisioned by theEast Asia Vision Group (EAVGⅠ) and proposed by the EAVGⅡ to belaunched in 2020 as the East Asia Economic Community. It is based onthe eclectic perspective of 'middle-ground constructivism', focusing oninteraction between material and ideational factors, on one hand, andbetween static structures and dynamic processes, on the other. Whileindependent variables include political power in realism, economicinterest in liberalism and cultural identity in constructivism, dependentvariables, i.e. the relationships between the two communities, encompass'monistic expansion' in constructivism, 'dualistic interdependence' inliberalism, and 'pluralistic competition' in realism. It is concluded thattheir ultimate relationships will be shaped in the intersubjective politicalprocess of regionalism, which actively construct, as well as passivelyreflect, the interdependent economic structure of regionalization.
