e-Business Risk Management : with Integrated Assessment

The objective of this paper is to examine the process of e-business risk management and to offer an effective approach in assessing and controlling e-business risks. The nature of e-business risks is so qualitative that measuring them objectively has been a great challenge. Thus, any attempt to manage the e-business risk without figuring out the true nature of the risks will lead to suboptimal use of resources for a firm. Furthermore, independent and segregated risk control could have firms fail to see the combined effects of e-business risks. This paper attempts to offer an integrated assessing method for e-business risks which is called VAR (value at risk) used frequently in the finance sector. In order to facilitate the method, a collaboration by firms in the same industry to accumulate and assess the e-business related data is suggested.
